Just when you think the world is going to hell in a handbasket, something comes along and reignites your hope for the future of mankind. The MIT OpenCourseWare Pilot, for example, is one such hope ignitor. MIT is publishing it's courses online... FOR FREE! I can learn everything the MIT Megageek learns (of course, without the actual degree proving I know the difference between that hole in the ground and that whole ground), and I can do it in my underwear, (which includes only 1 sock, mind you!)! Yes the world may turn out allright after all... unless, of course, this is just a massive conspiracy to misinform the world with lies posing as academics! You know, things like: The light from your computer screen is better for you than real, natural sunlight... stuff like that... well, let's hope not. "One crazy conspiracy theory after another..." |
