should we hire obese people to work in small areas? is it fair to the other employees?
how do I handle this?
I guess I'll just have to learn how she moves or something, but today I spilled hot drinks all over because she simply moved slightly next to me, her butt knocked me into the counter which hurt my hip and spilled drinks and burned my arm on the steam wand.
other than her size not being quite functional in our tiny work space, she is a really sweet, hard working, smart woman who I enjoy talking to and working with... I just don't know how to talk about our spacial issues...
actually, one thing that seems to work with one of the other servers is touch. When she is near me, or anyone, besides saying "behind" like we all do, she also gently but firmly touches our back, shoulder, or side to be sure we know she is near... at first it kind of startled me, I'm not a touchy person... but it's actually a really useful technique if I can do it effectively while carrying things...
