let me first say that copello's departure from caetolun is the very basis of the search for the marox pass. (to understand this read once more: marox_pass_copello_missing) it is not physical seperation. divorce is never a consideration. this is an absence of soul. as maylay once said, "travel between worlds is always dangerous." copello was inside the topography of his selfishness, traversing the mistaken lands of his ill spent determination. wrong choices for wrong resons. so, when helin imagined the german lovers to be her very own parents, it was copello's longing she experienced as one dreams, waking disappointed that reality pales in comparison. she was his femininity, the yin to his yang. she was one of many reasons he searched for the marox pass because the longer it eluded his grasp, he would be in danger of losing the intimacy of knowing her. a daughter is a gift from God. he could only live in rynomari, that land of perpetual happiness, if and only if he regained the marox pass. helin knew where it was. she would take him there, but only if copello would stay aware. if he would not take his eyes off the goal. if he would understand his desires. anyway, there was helin with the postcard of the peonies in her hand. she opened her eyes again, but she was feeling weak all of a sudden. light-headed. she broke out into a cold sweat and sat down on a chair the old man had painted bright yellow with black polka dots. "are you okay?" the old man asked. "what's the matter?"
