copello never felt better in his entire life. he had vibrant health, maximum energy, regular second wind, hard fought happiness, peace within, and sizable acumen. his life, as he saw it was rough cut, licked clean and healing and only one obstacle remained; as always it was the most difficult to conquer. with helin a cocoon of silk, cotton, and wool in his arms, he journeyed with only one goal in his mind: the retrieval of the marox pass which wold insure a final victory over addiction in all its tempting guises. he had been walking for three days, his burden growing increasingly heavy and therefore painful. he knew not where he was going, but somehow realized direction did not matter, only a confidence of motion. about this time, copello noticed movement within the cocoon. it was also at this time that nylem arrived disguised as an injured bird. he cocked his feathered head and secretly watched copello tenderly reach into the broken cocoon. seconds later he emerged with a newborn baby in his arms. it was a girl and she was crying for attention and love. when copello had plenty to give her, the sobbing abated. and so, on he journeyed with nylem following, now a snake in the grass. while copello slept, the infant changed to a toddler. it was obvious to see she was helin growing up all over again. when copello woke, he took her by the hand and they walked forward into the past. nylem followed, now a poisonous spider. helin then became a girl. she let go of her father's hand and they ran side by side. nylem became a pouncing tiger who missed every time he struck out at them. when helin became a young woman, copello wept for joy because it was here the journey ended. before them, nestled in the familiar woods stood their home. moments later, he was in his wife's arms surrounded by his three children. the marox pass retrieved. the circle of love closed. and for nylem, he vanished into thin air without a trace. fin.
