what is so appealing about the legends of old? or the movie screen legends that are our most current temple? most people don't lead fantastic lifes like that. and yet, i can understand it. because in every life there's at least one moment, one day, one hour, minute, or second where we experience what feels like total victory. on those days we have the exuberance of a god, and so somehow the tales of greatness and glory, no matter how implausible, are somehow familiar and intuitive.
