We’re sitting at a table in Hawaii It’s a fancy restaurant We’re here because grandma has cancer Whatever that is I know it’s bad I don’t like to let her touch me– What if i got sick? I’m fidgeting as we chat after the meal. I ask to order dessert You let me Key lime pie I don’t know what it is But it’s that or red velvet cake It shows up and looks amazing Vivid green and fluffy white I sink my fork in Taking a bite as i close my eyes It’s sour. You’re mad i don’t want to eat it. Sour. |

Ahh life as a youngun. It reminds me of my olive experience. I thought they were grapes. Got very excited as I sneaked them from the buffet. Imagine my shock, horror and disappointment when they were not grapes. I'd love a slice of key lime pie now though. A bit of brightness for an extremely gray day. |
