Kawabata: My favorite music is troubadour music. There can be nothing purer or more beautiful. The roots of troubadour music are found in the folk music of Occitania. Which means that these are the roots of virtually all European music. This is surely the music of heaven, manifesting itself here on earth. The Occitanian region has, and has always had, a sense of distance in its air. It also has beautiful countryside and beautiful women. I'd give everything for Occitania. When I die, I want my ashes to be scattered over Occitania from the top of one of its ruins. Since I wasn't born there, I at least want to sleep the eternal sleep there. where the hell is occitania? sounds nice |
