Let's not forget what we do to people who don't fit neatly into the male/female dualism, and the psychological repercussions of *that*. A lot worse than circumcision, fyi.
Anyway, even through male circumcision is more common, it's significantly less physically and emotionally harmful than female genital mutilaton. Circumcision does not generally entail cutting off the head of your dick with a shard of glass or a knife so that you cannot experience pleasure, and then sewing your urethra slit almost shut so that passing anything - urine, blood, whatever is even remotely analogous to a baby - is so excruciating (not to mention rip-inducing) that you may very well die.
Not the same, my friend. Not to mention that in our absurdist post-modern culture, many will argue that because it is tied to ethnicity, we have no right to mess with it.
I'm not saying I approve of circumcision.
