last
night
where

was
driving
in
some
sort
of
fast
car
.
Can't
remember
what
kind
.
I
do
remember
we
were
driving
down
some
seaside
highway
while
the
police
were
following
.
Don't
remember
who
it
was
in
the
passenger
seat
and
perhaps
I
never
even
saw
.
We
were
smoking
a
fat
joint
.
I
hit
the
accelerator
and
took
off
.
The
car
came
to
a
sharp
turn
due
to
a
detour
to
avoid
a
bridge
under
construction
.
I
could
not
find
the
break
pedal.
I
remember
the
feeling
of
reaching
for
it
with
my
foot
,
but
there
was
nothing
there
.
My
foot
just
went
through
the
air
.
Had
I
been
not
been
sleeping
alone
I
may
have
kicked
anyone
else
in
the
bed
.
Strangely
enough
,
after
a
moment
or
two
of
panic
the
car
slowed
down
and
I
got
out
walked
over
the
bridge
with
whoever
was
in
the
car
with
me
and
the
cops
just
left
us
alone
.
