back when everything was so much simpler.
i was more naive, that much is true, but life was more straightforward.
none of this pussy-footing, will-they-won't-they-ing; none of this what will the consequences be, what will he think of me; none of this where will i be in 5 years, how will i fund it, who will i be.
just simple and exciting and new, lacking in baggage and failure and cynicism, brimful of joie de vivre and exhilarated at the thought of tomorrow.
and now tomorrow has come, i'm 21, and i want to be 17 again.

i would only want to be 17 again if i could go back and do it knowing what i know now, some things from then i would gladly re-live, but some things still haunt me and if there was a way around those moments, i would gladly take it

I'm so glad I'll never be 17 again. Just like anyone at any age, there were some things I had figured out and other things I hadn't. But most importantly I hadn't figured out how to take care of myself. I hadn't figured out the importance of kindness and compassion. I was sincerely miserable and riding all of my hopes for happiness on a relationship. Yikes.

If I could be 17 again I would be the coolest 17 year old ever.
But it isn't that the narrative of all those movies? You think it's going to be one way, but then you get back and you have all the same inadequacies you had at the time.
I do like to think that I'd be more confident.
