Her red silk skirt dances excitedly in the wind She stares towards the horizon lethargically His words tighten their grip around her neck And she pretends it's simply an embrace A lonely tear strolls down her face in silence While copper leaves fly by escaping from the doom Forcefully he grabs her arm and makes her turn toward him She can only stare down at the stubbornly green grass Resenting its constancy which she once believed was theirs His words grow louder and the chill of his heart cuts her lips She slowly opens her mouth to speak only to have it slapped by his voice A voice she once loved and now loathes A voice of comfort now wrapped in cruelty Suddenly everything fades except for the two of them on this emerald hill And she realizes what she should have always seen As she slowly gazes into his deep set eyes She finally sees through all of his lies And as her vision expands... Their love painfully dies.
