Brody's a friend of mine.
He's nine and he likes to play outside
and ride his bike awhile.
It makes him smile.

Lisa's a friend of mine.
She's a rocker and she likes to go outside.
She likes her flowers wild
and on the vine.
Likes her flowers wild
and on the vine.

And her state of mind sure goes down easy.

Robbie's a friend of mine. He's a drinker.
He likes to sit outside. He feeds the birds and flies.
It gets him by.

And Ceri's a friend of mine.
She used to smile before she went outside
But now she hurts herself to numb her needs
when no one sees
She hurts herself to numb her needs
hopes no one sees.

Guess a good state of mind would sure go down easy.
Laughter's free..and still the best medicine.
The tough times in life, I do suppose
come bitter dose by dose
But a good state of mind sure goes down easy.

Ayla's a friend of mine.
She's awful shy and she likes to hide
inside her mind
where no one can see her cry.
She hides inside her mind, where no one sees her cry.

A good state of mind would sure go down easy.
Laughter's sweet..and still the best medicine.
The tough times in life, I do suppose, come bitter dose by dose,
but a good state of mind sure goes down easy.

blah hmmm... the internet is a friend of mine, it gives me something called knowledge. What do friends give you? apart from a load of bullshit 130731

daf Narrowing one's definition of "friend" can be helpful. Taking to heart the notion that people's bullshit stems from them, not from us can also make it easier not to take the bullshit so personally.

There are those who travel through the maze and those of whom its walls are composed. We run smack into a lot of the latter and call it bullshit.

dafremen Had a guy drop 20 dollars and a $35 - 45 dollar bag of weed on me at the state park campground this weekend. I was testing out "The Bag" and played this song on it.

The Bag is my Fender SP-10 guitar amp with a car battery and a 700 watt inverter, all packaged in a 1.5 x 1.5 foot cube-shaped bag. (I'm hoping to build wheels for it today, because it's pretty heavy with that car battery in it.) It's basically a travelling guitar amp with its own power supply.

So I busted out The Bag and my guitar and played "Goes Down Easy." About 20 minutes later, a guy (hey R!) shows up and puts $20 in my hand and tells me to "keep rockin'." Accidentally included was a pack of pipe screens. I handed him his pipe screens back and sort of hinted that I'd rather have a little booya than the $20 if that was possible. "Wait here..I'll be right back," he says..then comes back and lays a fat sack of budz on me. I go to offer him the $20, but he says "Keep it. Put it into your music man." Wow. Mysterious ways indeed.
