ever be wonderin' how that pair of levi's you be wearin' originated? back in thee gold rush days, levi strauss came from bavaria and he be noticin' that thee miners be rippin' up their pants. so he comes up with a new tough fabric and thee rest is history. he set up shop in san francisco on valencia st. in 19o6, but sadly thee classic place has to shut down production...there are still two texas factories, cool for this american company as it never pimped out for cheaper foreign labor costs. some happy jean makers be workin' for decades. thee hq is still in 'frisco and the old place may be turned into a museum. levi strauss had a progressive spirit, maybe that's why i be feelin' all like i need to be doin' sumpthin when i be wearin' me silvalegs... |
