Here's a fun food fact for all of you. Fish sauce is a popular ingredient in Asian cooking. Here's how they make it: Take a barrel, put a layer of fish on the bottom, then spread a layer of salt on that. Layer of fish, layer of salt, all the way to the top. Allow to ferment for a few weeks. A black liquid will start to ooze from the bottom, this is the highest quality fish sauce.

yeah, any good thai food has fish sauce in it. red, green, yellow curries, salads. my friend put fish sauce, cilantro, and red onion on a frozen cheese pizza once and that was pretty bomb. since i try really hard to not eat the fishes, i avoid thai. been a few months since i had a bowl of red curry. unhinged_in_san_francisco will be sure to change that
