I'm a bit sick of films about words. Films that start with a script, and are all about delivering lines. They're always full of the perfect lines, the most meaningful lines, the most powerful lines, that always seem to say exactly the right thing. And the other characters always understand them completely. And the people in them have whole conversations, lasting minutes, of one perfectly thought out, constructed and delivered line after another. Lifes not like that, people don't talk like that. I might get 4 or 5 movie-like lines a year, if I'm lucky. But I see lots of beauty, I meet interesting people and I witness meaning-full things all the time. I'd like to see more films that reflect life like that. |
