he did love her. he was faithful, he was true. and yet still he would sometimes imagine bizarre scenarios. what if aliens landed and took over the world. then they decided to experiment by rebreeding humans to see if they did a better job with the planet this time around. what if they picked 1000 conscientous males. what if i was one of them. what if the males were told to select 20 females. all other humans would be killed. any double picks would go to the more superior male, by whatever their standards were. say if any one of the 1000, backed out, they wouldn't replace him, it'd just be extra death. who would he pick? he liked this fantasy. it allowed him to want all of those women he wondered what it was like to love, and still feel heroic. after all, the aliens had a gun to his head. he was saving their lives! |
