to respond to any childlike or childish show of braggadocio, simply nod your head, smile, and say "congratulations."
this is the way you verify that the person has a very good positive attitude and also that the content they gave out was, unless the mirror-show is fully engaged and engaging of the viewer, more-or-less self-involved.
person: "guess what? la la la la la la"
you: "congratulations."
it's definitely better form than pretending like you're too busy and ignoring them. and you don't want to tell them that they can't be happy!
just a primer on how to respond to the Leo in everybody. but, disclaimer, a little cynical, this way too. you may also do it non-cynically too.... like as in: WOW! It makes me happy that you're happy! I think you've stumbled across the joys of the ages and I'm thinking that gives me hope for myself (or something like that. as you can see I don't share in others random happinesses magically, by osmosis.)
but achievements do deserve Congratulations's. people are usually jerks, though, in my experience.
