blueberries i found someone's wallet in the gutter on grant street. it was laying in a pool of fresh rain water with a faded wrapper from a reese's peanut butter cup and a few decomposing oak leaves.

i opened it. it was a black leather bill fold type. money? yes. eleven one dollar bills. in the little pockets there were the usual array of plastic cards,
a foto driver's license, coffee cards, business cards, and a nice pen, fine point.

but what i thought that was very cool was this...

on the left side, he had a large paper clip that held several small sheets of paper that appeared to be thoughts he had jotted down upon inspiration. lines of poetry. future cds he would purchase.
obscure names that meant something personal to him. fragments of a life.

after some research i found the owner two days later. he was happy to get it back and bought me a coffee. i asked him about the notes he scribbled down and we talked for about two hours about writing process and he told me about a web site he likes called "neumu." check it out.
