Hello there. Absurd title, I know, but I just wanted to use the space to review and recommend books of poetry I've read... everyone else is welcome to add poetry-related blatherings of all sorts. ........... Eunoia, by Christian Bok -This is a very cool book... in a slightly geeky sort of way. Most of the content is one epic work divided into five chapters, each of which is dedicated to a vowel. All the words that appear can ONLY use that vowel. An example from the beginning: "Awkward grammar appals a craftsman. A Dada bard as daft as Tzara damns stagnant art and scrawls an alpha (a slapdash arc and a backward zag) that mars all stanzas and jams all ballads (what a scandal)." It's not just a clever show-offy concept. The language creates beautiful rhythms, the content manages to make sense and it's frequently very funny. Highly recommended.

Cool! Does he live in Toronto? I think I heard something to that effect but I'm not sure. Some good poets who teach at Concordia are Stephanie Bolster and Jon Fiorentino. My prof last term, David McGimpsey, also has a couple of books out but I haven't looked at them yet... and for unhinged's suggestions... I like e.e. cummings... the others I'll have to check out. See you.
