where seldom is heard a discouraging word as a little kid I thought it meant that the word (seldom) was heard and that word was discouraging. Seldom was heard in reference to the lack of rain. and the skies are not cloudy all day to add insult to injury, the deer and the antelope just played, heedless of our suffering. I developed a kind of dark view of the world pretty early on, I guess. |
