quotree "Witch Wife" by Edna St.Vincent Millay

She is neither pink nor pale,
And she never will be all mine;
She learned her hands in a fairy-tale,
And her mouth on a valentine.

She has more hair than she needs;
In the sun `tis a woe to me!
And her voice is a string of coloured beads,
Or steps leading into the sea.

She loves me all that she can,
And her ways to my ways resign;
But she was not made for any man,
And she never will be all mine.

i heart millay deeply and eternally.
she ish delish.

.fallen so many varied paths to take... where the light hits determines the next possible steps... so many different possiblities laid out before these dirty feet... who guides the signpost but the shimmering lights?... witch_wife was a path... it was open once... so briefly... it was there forever... so briefly... heavy footfalls obscured the way... and there was no clearing in order to regain focus before carrying on... with gritted teeth the steps have already been made... pushing away... no lights gleam on new paths... so many possibilities... the heavy footfalls have faded into gentle rustling of leaves in the wind... 050803
