oh man. we had to read that last year for english. i hated it at the time. naturally.
but i saw some people quoting some shit from it just now. and i remeber so much of it. damn - and how we alwasy used to bitch about how much our teacher sucked. she taught us a hell of alot.
i can actually explain what they meant with all their slogans(war is peace, freedom is slavery etc). and its scary now the more that i think about it. i actually want to read it again.
i must be going insane. =P

i really loved it a lot.
i got all excited when some weirdo posted a rant about radiohead's ok computer and its similarities with this book (2+2=5 and 1=2, etc.).
i tried to see the movie but i got scared when i read that eurythmics composed all the soundtrack, and that's not a good sign.

I saw a sign at a peace rally a few months ago. It said 'Happy New Year 1984.' And I was suddenly struck by how close we could be edging to that cliff where we have to decide, do we go that way of passive control, or do we keep stumbling blindly through the dark, the way we have for so many centuries? It's not paranoia, just a thought. I read the book in 7th grade (on my own, obviously) but I lost it. I wish i could find it again.

i read it when i was in 6th grade, then again in 7th grade, then again this year. i love that book, but i must admit the parallels are a little freaky. i liked farenheit_451 too.
