Dafremen I wrote somewhere (don't know exactly where and please excuse me for being too lazy too look) that the body could function but for having given up its ability to CHOOSE to function. As is the case with many of us, sometimes the brain tends to get a little self-indulgent at the cost of the body. The body has ways of making us pay attention though, and it uses them. It makes us feel tired, miserable, sore. Sometimes it takes a real shock to wake the brain up, like a heart attack. Look at what happens after a person has a heart attack: They start to take care of their heart or they die. (Or they get a transplant and take care of their heart or they die.) In the end, the smart brain takes care of the heart from then on. Civilizations and societies have often been like this, in need of being shaken up. When society begins to abuse or exploit it's citizens, it is time for those citizens to turn away from that society. 030423
