the front page was recycled today hale and hearty was FDR proclaiming war, so many of us are private cripples public heroes. the empty bed is whitewashed in the morning light to become just another piece of furniture, not the end that it is, the portent of our inner imaginings. the birds go chirpy chirpy the boys in the park go merry merry all along the sidewalk the leaves like lemmings roll. the front page is new death old tricks, everything is a new pattern, but the closer it is to one we know the more we can say this must be done this must be done like the boys going merry merry or the birds going chirpy chirpy your eyes take the conversation then my eyes, eclipsing ascendencies front page news. this city, that city a boiling traffic jam of pretense - what happens when our desires are condensed are answered so much we become demanding. are you ever afraid that if you were to pull back the skies, they would be covers over just another empty bed? just another binary distinction was this, now is this - eclipsing ascendencies an empty bed or the merry chirpy of new morning and old war.
