slippery crease licking, small teeth stifled smile. I love that, you know? I'll wake you up smiling wide like caffiene and you ask me if I found coffee; me rooting it out of nowhere like a truffle frisking pig and I'll kiss your arm and rub your back toss your clothes on your feet start working your shirt over your head (sometimes you won't even open your eyes) random mornings you'll grab me hard pull me whole into you while I count minutes by our clock. Your smile will bring me to work on time today. I don't have to keep my mouth closed when you follow me out the door, shut the screen, past the gate and up the step to the car and I wait watch the lock turn itself slowly up. I can tell you oh, I had this dream and on and on. I can say I love you and you might even respond. then some other time, maybe, another morning, you'll be wishing I had taken the initiative caught the bus, one two three four, walked on my own, kissed you goodbye without waking, five six seven, catch the bus home, let you play your computer game. eight nine ten, read a book, coo to my bird alone. All day spent wringing waiting to see your smile and hoping you won't blame me if you don't.
