begin logic generally, it's the opposite, but it is true that the ego shows up in the oddest places. the ego wants to be gratified, and that's usually a more pleasurable thing than a painful thing. however, if pain becomes pleasure (how can it? such a contradiction of terms), then the masochism is in service to the ego. perhaps, if it's masochism for masochism's sake it becomes egotistical, but otherwise it is something more akin to, say, karma yoga, effort, and self-challengement. end logic

Know_it_is & they are equateable. When_you_forget_your_true_self, it leads to suffering. when_you_remember_your_true_self suffering is a sensation that your timelesself is acknowledging but not victim to. You develop a sense of humor that likens all worries and passion and despair to nothing other than a pile of dirty laundry. The relief is finding out that you had mistaken yourself FOR that pile of clothes.
