Know your archetypes
Interestingly enough, the entirety of life, the universe, its processes, its purpose, our lives, our society and all of the variations on the theme, that in the end create what we call complexity, all of these are easily reduced down to the same archetypes. In some books they talk about the many archetypes, but in fact these are all constructed of just TWO. All of the gyrations and movement or lack thereof, come from the whirling dance of 0 and 1, or more visibly, 1 and 2.
Take a black hole for instance, it is the ultimate attractive force in the universe (that we know of.) It's counterpart? The star, the ultimate giver in the universe, going out to bathe its surroundings with energy.
Interestingly enough, we can see similar indicators in the 2 symbols for Men and Women. The symbol for Venus/women has a plus sign to show attraction. In astrology, your venus position represents those things which you are drawn to. The power to move others, their energy and material possessions through force of attraction. Like a black hole, the birthplace of universes.
For Mars/men, it is an arrow instead of a plus sign to show outward action. It's what we call a RAY in geometry. (See what happened there? That's because these archetypes are EVERYWHERE and our reality is constructed of them.) In astrology, your Mars position describes the sort of things that motivate you to act. Energy, going out, to accomplish whatever it is it might do..like the Sun.
Greed or selflessness? Creation or destruction? Nurturing or slaying? Freezing or warming? They're all represented by the same two archetypes. As the spiritual gurus told us, life is all of the combinations that happen as we pass from one to the other, back and forth from black to white, darkness to light. In Christian tradition, it is the struggle between "letting your light shine" or "hiding it under a bushel basket." Will you be consumed by the matter of which your body and brain are constructed? Or will the energy within you, which mmakes it all possible, win out and guide your actions?
It's even in our numbers. You can see that 1 is like a ray or an arrow. It represents energy or perhaps the photon. Now look at 2. There's that photon being pulled into something's orbit (bet you it's 0.) A tie in to astrology will help illuminate this better: Aries (the first fire sign) is known as the initiator. Taurus, (the second earth sign) is known as the sign of materialism.
It's even in the organization of our society(the wealthy are the black hole, the working class is is the star), the evolution of our species(one of these days I'll have to share what I've discovered about the purpose of the traditional nuclear family and why it was so important to human evolution), our fads(look at me!), our historical cycles(Did you know that sit on your ass monied types, guiding working people off to die in war, is similar to the way a nucleus swerves the path of energy and creates [wealth] matter from it? That's just one example.)
Only two archetypes from which all the others are formed. As KX21 called them: shits_and_stars.
And here's the thing, with just these two archetypes, we CAN discover the meaning of life and the purpose of being here. It's in there. The entire user's manual for life is written across the stars, across the skies, across your face, upon your heart. And it's so simple it continues to blow my mind, and once again, has defied all attempts to explain it.
