I love the movies, but I loved the books even more. The movie changed many things, and yet it helped me also to visualize characters and things like the oliphunts and Gollum. (Yay Smeagul!) Anyways, I am majorly hoping that there is at least a DVD addition at the end of the release of the third movie that includes all three movies and the behind the scenes stuff.. maybe they shot scenes with creatures like Tom and the Barrow Downs and just left it out of the movie so that they could charge more for the extended versions later. Never know about hollywood. :P

Unfortunately, Tom Bombadil and Barrow Downs were left out as far as i know.
Check out the Extended Edition DVDs as they come out as they do include more stuff in terms of film footage and behind the scenes stuff (2 discs worth of movie and 2 discs worth of behind the scenes documentaries on top of the ones that are packaged with the Theatrical edition DVDs

extended edition of Fellowship is out now, Extended Two Towers is next month and extended Return of the King is Next Nov.
I wanted to try and hit one of the special screenings of the two extended editions on the day before Return of The King is released in theatres(12/16/03), but of the 90 or so theatres in the US doing it, they are all already sold out and the e-bay prices are particulary brutal

eh.. ebay is naughty.. i have a friend that had a garage sale almost purely from stuff he got from ebay. tee hee .. cant wait to see return of the king.. saw a teaser for it on Kill Bill tonight. looked great!
by the way, please excuse my illiteracy tonight.. im about to fall over and go out like a light .. worked non-stop today.. cleaning is not fun.
