Michael Alan Parker, Jr. Case details:
The first accusation was made by Michael Alan Parker III, the son, in August of 1992.
Parker's son says his dad stripped him down in the garage and anally raped him.
Parker was first jailed in February 1993, when he and several codefendants were accused of abusing Parker’s three children in and near their home in Saluda, N.C.
The state rested its case on January 28, 1994.
Michael Alan Parker Jr was remanded to Craggy Correctional Institution in January of 1994. (28? 29? 30? 31?)
In July of 1995, J. Michael Edney filed an appeal claiming "clerical and procedural errors."
In a 2010 affidavit recanting all allegations against her father, Misty Parker stated that she lied to get her father out of their home. Neither of the two older children have changed their testimony.
Parker was freed after Superior Court Judge Marvin Pope ruled August 25, 2014 that the medical evidence would no longer be interpreted as proof of sexual abuse. Pope vacated Parker’s sentence and dismissed the charges against him.
After Michael Parker Jr's release from prison, both of his older children (along with his ex-wife) unfriended Misty Parker on Facebook and changed their phone numbers.
