have you ever been? I spent the winters and summers with my dad's family in Minnesota growing up. I spent the rest of the year living in the Sonoran desert with my mom. I loved the snow then, and ice fishing even though the cracking of the ice terrified me. one night I was so bored in the town of 500 born_again_christians with their one school, two bars, two churches, and dairy processing plant that stunk like rotting vomit... I took off all my clothes and went outside. I touched the snow with my toes, then laid my arm on it, I knelt on my knees in it and picked some up to rub on stomach... then I laid down and rolled around in it. It felt great, then I was numb. I went inside and the heat brought out the tingly sting and I took a hot shower. It felt like the hot baths when I was a kid and would spend hours walking through the mucky mud on edge of the Yellow river in Minnesota with my friend, Anna. We'd go numb from the knees down and come back with clam shells, agates, and cat tails. My grandma would put us in a hot bath together and we'd check each other for ticks. She always thought my freckles were ticks and we'd laugh.
