"What rule would you impose if you were the world’s king or queen?" Do unto others as you would have them do to you. And likewise, assume that others are treating you as they wish to be treated. "Would you kill one innocent child to heal the world’s diseases forever?" No. But that's what the evolutionary process was working on before we started meddling with preventative medicine. We should TRY to save those who are imperiled..but lean less into our impatience, emotionalism and assumptions about what would be good for the future of humanity. Maybe if we stopped meddling and prepared ourselves for the ride..evolution might not be such a bad thing. Who knows? Not us. |
