cats have this way of nonchalantly pushing aside, or sitting on, whatever one is reading. as if it's perfectly clear that whatever you might be doing, it's not as important as you paying attention to them. diesel usually peeks his head over the book, and if i don't put it down, he reaches his paw over to knock it down, and then lays on it to emphasize the point. elliott usually goes for a head butting. the part of it that just kills me is the total lack of emotion. there's no urgency. just "i'm going to have to take this away from you now, because it seems to be preventing you from petting me." rather than risk repeated harrassment i usually indulge them until they tire of me. |
