Being a business person is not about making money.
This simple idea has been turned upside down by modern "capitalism". People who go into business just to make money, are ANTI-capitalist..though they may not even understand why.
To illustrate, take these questions and think on them a second:
If the purpose of any economic system is to serve the real physical needs of a society and its people, why would ANY society or people adopt a system that caused harm to them?
If a business only did harm to society, but was still rewarded with profit? What society would want that?
If a business did NO good for society and only made money, what society would want that?
The answers to these questions should be pretty obvious to most of us. Society DOESN'T want to reward bad behavior with its money, people and resources. Would YOU want to give someone $100 for destroying your life and health? How about $20 to make your relationships dysfunctional?
The original purpose of a business, for any TRUE capitalist, is to serve the needs of society.
An enterprise which serves society well, is supposed to be rewarded with profit. Business which doesn't serve society well isn't rewarded with profit. That's the concept anyhow.
But somewhere along the way, some selfish, deluded (probably gluttonous) person turned everything upside down and started to rake in the profits without doing much for society at all. Then..they figured out how to do nothing. Then they figured out how to take more profit by harming society. And they did so. They had wholeheartedly embraced their own mantra: "The purpose of a business is to make money."
And now there are holes everywhere and the water is shit. The planet's dying and our families have been rendered impotent with dysfunction and dependence. And the people who did it don't give a shit.
They never did. They shouldn't have been rewarded. They should have been jailed. But instead, we let them use the ill-gotten profit to cover their crimes against their own people..and dig deeper into our pockets.
A truly capitalist system wouldn't have given them a penny.

they do absolutely no good for society. they bring assholes to seattle that gentrified the gayborhood so that most of the city's gays can't afford to live there anymore, and the ones that can have seen an increase in getting their asses kicked on the street for no reason. the housing markets here are so expensive that homelessness is a 'crisis' because the six figure amazon assholes are starting bidding wars over the limited housing that is available to them and the mayor doesn't give a shit about the rest of us. can't afford seattle? move somewhere else...oh that's right, everywhere else in this metro area is unaffordable too. oh well; amazon can create jobs even though there's no housing for those people and the city does nothing to regulate them because...capitalism. job creation. foreign investors see the tech bubble here and make our housing even more unaffordable. as long as jeff bezos puts even more billions in his own pocket, refers to his 'good' employees as robots, and allows his company to support xenophobic racist assholes by selling confederate flags and donald trump paraphernalia. go capitalism; as long as one person in this city is making billions and trickling a few million down to a select few in his company, who gives a fuck about the rest of us

oh fuck off; i read what you had to say. what you think and the reality of what really happens in this country are so far off...i am well aware of our corporate welfare state which is nothing like textbook free market capitalism. much like socialism in the ussr was nothing like what marx actually had in mind. when human beings get ahold of money and power they pervert everything to keep that money and power. but once again, i can't have an opinion if it doesn't coincide with yours. i should have known better than to post anything on a page you created. thanks for the alcoholic abuse.

(and capitalism is live and well in the housing market here; supply is low and demand is high because amazon is hiring at break neck speeds to make jeff bezos more billions with no regard for what the housing market can bare so people like me are getting squeezed for every last dime; whenever i say something about regulating the housing market people go 'but...free market!' so actually...

( i turned to my roommate when it was clear that the democratic party wasn't going to let us have the nominee that would actually make a difference and said 'the people in ohio won't vote for hillary. they rightfully blame her husband for nafta and they don't forget. they will hold her responsible and vote for trump.' and here we are; the rust belt doesn't want anymore corporate trade deals barack. they are tired of watching the news saying how great the economy is when they still can't afford to eat. you have destroyed our faith in the democratic party and made sure that the candidate of your brand of corporate trickle down incrementalism hands the white house to a neofascist. thanks for the hope obama. thanks for the change...trump could very well destroy the world and i blame your thumb on the scale of the democratic primaries while for once the republicans let their voters decide. so here we are, hillary or trump, with some of the lowest voter turn out in the industrialized world. a sham democracy by and for a bunch of corporate shills. i no longer believe in the democratic party. you have made it clear who you support. while i can't vote for a bigot who literally and figuratively attacks women, i can't vote for a woman who threw workers and the poor under the bus. we are fucked *sigh*)

i've loved michael moore for twenty years. once again, he's one of the only ones that gets it. i grew up in the rust_belt and lived on the west coast for five years. people out here don't get it. at all. the tech sector executives and employees that are screwing the rest of us on the west coast, least of all by making us food insecure and a lot of us homeless because they have the money to inflate the housing market to the point that the rest of us can't afford it, don't care and they don't get it. hillary is a republican in progressive's clothing that will do even less than obama for us, the dispossessed. she will do even less than obama to combat climate change. she will do even more than obama to continue war.
and bernie was beating trump by double digits four months ago BEFORE wikileaks. yep, we are sooooo fucked. *sigh*
