falling_alone had kevin smith night, or rather jay and silent bob night...

watched in order:
clerks
mallrats
chasing amy
dogma
and
jay and silent bob strike back

interesting things to note in all of these movies are the interchangeable characters and conversation.
each movie seemed to play off one another and the same stars played in each, so it became a little confusing when in jay and silent bob jason lee played both "brodie" and "banky" and ben affleck played both "holden" and "himself".
oh...in every movie as well a reference of star wars takes place, as well as silent bob only speaks about once in each movie which is a big attention grabber.
so it was fun to try and relate each movie to one another pointing out each reference (rather just laughing in my case) well, fun for me, i must have annoyed my companion.
but thoroughly looking forward to "the passion of the clerks" which is in preproduction i have learned.

are there any other directors/writers who have been known to do this?

u24 hitchcock always appeared in the background of his movies (apparently)

tarantino always takes a minor role in his (at least, he did with everything up to kill bill - not seen)

pointing out all the references, especially in jay n silent bob near the end, but throughout all as well.
