I hate it when people try to force you to pick sides. I am not Team Israel or Team Palestine. I am not Team Edward or Team Jacob. On a slightly more literary note, I am not Team Sylvia or Team Ted either. Can't I just be Team Something Else?

(about Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath (in case that particular entry was a little cryptic) there's controversy even today about not only who's the better writer, but even a better person, as if you can really judge that. It's kind of weird, delving into people's problems as a couple that they probably wanted to be kept private anyway. As far as I'm concerned, their poetry style is rather similar... while Hughes is not usually so (seemingly) confessional, his compact language, classical references and, for lack of a better term, use of cool words is a lot like Plath.) so yes, there are even teams in the poetry world! Life is depressing (or funny, depending on your point_of_view)

As for the Ezra Pound/HD pairing, I lean towards Team HD. In terms of total poetic output, as well as being an annoying racist, Pound wins; but as for Imagism, I vote that Hilda Doolittle does a lot more with fewer words. Who's more high definition than HD herself? (Take that and suck on it, Ezra Hashtag.)
