You don't have to type in vain.
Just highlight your text and cntl+C. If you got the captcha wrong then you can try again and just cntl+V to put your text right back in there. Cut and paste.

I don't get it; I never have a problem with it. Sometimes you just need to take a second glance and think "hang on, is that a 1 or an L?" and usually you can see some indicator of which letter it is.
And you only have to type it per session..

You don't need to copy and paste anything. If you get captcha wrong, just hit your back button. Your text will be there. You can retry captcha, or refresh the page to give a different one a shot. Either way, your pre-natal blathe should remain in tact. I know this because I get captcha wrong about 62 percent of the time, but since I haven't verified yet today, I'll check and make sure...

i've only had a few crumbles
one of them i put the captcha in email
clicked back and entered the captcha in the right place and it was fine
there have been a few captchas that weren't clear enough/i thought i might mess up so i reloaded

i have lost 3 blathes and no amount of correct captcha typing, going back or refreshing helped. i'm not a pc or blather amateur, and i've typed plenty of captchas before. it would not allow me submission in 2 instances (no matter how i typed the captcha), and in the other one my blathe was completely gone when i went back. maybe your computer is nicer to you than mine is being to me. for now, copying my blathe gives me blathe security.

I can understand how it would be annoying.
I could write a firefox extension to solve this problem, if people are interested.
It would automatically copy the blathe and if the cave crumbles, would take you back and paste it back in.

yes, i am also convinced that sometimes the captcha just doesn't work. i also use firefox/linux. *shrugs*
it is slightly annoying to have to go back, paste, press blathe again and hope to get a more cooperative captcha but once again *shrugs* i'd rather be bothered to spend ten extra seconds of my day to blathe knowing those spamming assholes are not marring us anymore.

I'd like a different captcha design myself. Some, rather than obscuring chunks of the letters, simply warp the letters instead, and sometimes have some lines strewn over them. Much easier to read!
