friend of friend of friend is connected to rich guy building house on long island. hundred-million-dollar type thing (see? i told you the 'recession' is a myth to cover dragon-style hoarding) of course a state of 'art' security system is in place (such a thing does not meet my fairly loose description of art, but thats me)...but get this this seriously makes me sad for some reason if a thief breaks in, the house is designed to lure the theif into the master bedroom, where the doors will seal shut...and the air will be sucked out of the room, killing the thief. oh, i see. thievery deserves murder? well then, mister rich pants, may you die by your own sword. for your wealth did not come out of a magic hat! seriously, not only does this guy fear loss of material goods, but he has taken preventative measures to ensure that vengeance is unleashed upon any would-be thief. (((i see, mr. ceo, that you are taking a raise while your workers are being laid off or taking pay cuts. i'm going to hold out a sword and stand right in front of wherever you are trying to go, and if you impale yourself, it is your own fault, you dirty thief. hey, maybe his idea isn't so bad after all. oh who am i kidding, it is psychotic. bad idea, rich person!)) yet more evidence that even the rich are prisoners of this system...while there is no set code of "higher thought", this guy clearly lacks whatever "higher thought" is. yet more evidence that the nobility aren't so very noble. yet more evidence that my tenure here has been totally worthless. "what are kingdoms if not great robberies" said an old roman (horace? can't remember)
