Here's an interesting point for the big brains in the room:
We've given our leaders great power over many decades. Again and again, under many ideological, political and economic systems, these "leaders" have proven that our race, on average is NOT capable of handling the amount of power it already has.
The tendency of our current leadership is to buy power then wield it to obtain more power. Their tactic has been to buy our best minds and use them to exploit the not-so-intelligent. That is monkey thinking. It is no different from the domination hierarchy engaged in by our hominid ancestors. It might be worse.
Look at what leaders did with Einstein's discoveries. Didn't matter if they were German, American or Russian..they were all racing to build a bomb out of this new magic. Then, like swaggering teenagers, said..we'll POWER the world. But of course, their complete disdain for human life when money is on the line made Chernobyl an inevitable event.
We are still evolving emotionally as a race, intellectually as well. (Well, not if the plot line of Idiocracy holds as true as it has up until now but, digression.)
You're all smart enough to know and see this. But because these ape-men will pay your bills, you feign ignorance..or simply don't turn your minds in that direction.
Here we are, living on a planet where advanced ape-men still hold the scepter that our greatest minds gave them. And those of you whose intellects are capable of seeing beyond this ape-like thinking..are now indulging your curiosity because these ape-men are willing to pay you to put your mind to work for them.
And you will go to the labs. As dutifully as they will pay your rent. Then find the keys to godhood so that you can hand them to the monkey-kings.
WTF is wrong with you? You're smarter than that.
