I was thinking, living in my redneck suburb wouldn't be too bad, so long as I was able to be a subversive. Two ideas for this: Fly the Skull-and-Crossbones instead of the American flag Get a bumper sticker saying "What would Kaiser Sose do?"

at a recent friend's house, every party found the jolly roger flying out front, attached to a bamboo pole with sharp things on the protruding end, but the pole was also the remote control for big_free_tv, so it didn't stay up all that often. they said that at one point a little boy and his dad were walking by, and the little boy got really excited and pointed and said, "look daddy! pirates live there!" the dad smiled and agreed, but i don't think he realized that the kid was right.

we had a deep frying vat big enough to hold him, he should have come visit. the dad could probably tell better, as that house looked like a white trash oasis in the middle of the hippie warrens--beer bottles and cigarette butts all over, broken things and baby jesuses festooning the bushes, burly, unwashed men in wife beaters always lounging about and grilling things. aah, i miss that place.

if only I could have her beside me. The cultural desert, paved with artificially green color would be survivable, if she was my oasis. Where are you? And do you know where I am, or even care?
