minnesota_chris well for all the duties that the vice president does, she and her boobs will do nicely.

if McCain becomes President and dies, though, we're all in trouble.

lunatic jesus All else remaining the same, though, I wish he had picked Ted_Stevens instead.

Either way he's going to lose, but Batshit_Crazy giving stump speeches would have at least made the time in between interesting.

rocket queen and based on what i've seen in some of the blogs, any number of crazy disgruntled Hillary supporters will likely vote McCain based on this pick even though she is otherwise antithetical to their beliefs stricty based on the shared plumbing 080831

dosquatch Yeah, the media is pretty busy trying to sell the idea that Palin is going to take the Hillary voters, and probably there are some that will go that way, but I really have to believe that the vast majority are voting for something deeper than "cause she's a chick". 080901

rocket queen even separate from the narrative the media is pushing, i've quit frequenting a number of ostensibly feminist forums and blogs because of some of the crazy rhetoric coming from people for whom i used to have a lot more respect.

thankfully it's not too widespread, but the pockets of insanity are pretty scary where you find them.

just because she has a uterus and i have one too does not mean that the R ticket is anymore inclined to get my vote than it was when Romney or Pawlenty or Lieberman or Jindal were floating around at the presumptive top of the list.

I'm not totally sold on him either, but i'm voting for Barr, personally.

and if you ask me, Palin is the ghost of Spiro Agnew wrapped in the skin of a runner-up beauty queen.

on a side note, this place is pretty neat

unhinged any feminist would be crazy to vote for mccain based on the fact that he wants to overturn roe_vs_wade and do everything he can to take away our reproductive health rights and put them in mens' hands.

up to 10000 protesters marched on the republican national convention. that looks like a hopeful sign. i feel way more hopeful in this election than the last at any rate. i think even the stupid populus has woken up the fact that bush fabricated a war to keep himself in the white house and suck the middle class dry in an effort to keep his good old boys club drowning in money. 'never switch dicks in the middle of a screw...' seems to be a lasting political truism.

i really wish the crusades would end already. the stupid remarks about obama not following through also annoy me. of course he will not follow through on most of his campaign promises. first of all, he is a politician. second of all, he has the congress and supreme court of bush appointed conservative fuckheads to battle against. as i'm pretty sure obama will not completely disregard the checks and balances built into the constitution.

Strideo sometimes I quit blather over politics.

then I find myself dipping my toe back in the water a few months later . . .

I'm so sick of the two party dominance in American politics. when I hear people talk about politics or speak with them I often get this sense that many of them are stuck in a one dimensional view of politics that goes either left or middle or right along a straight line and there isn't anything more complex than that.
