re_alisma Dear _________,

to wait for the bus? That was always some kind conundrum for me. But you can't get everywhere by walking. Some places took me several years to reach without a car. Eventually, I got a car and/or a friend to take me there.

But not before I had visited it more complexly, and grandiosely, symbolically in my psyche and/or in Turkey. It's becoming clear to me that I can't now "do" Seattle without some sort of allegiance to what happened before, but that may be okay. Unlike Chicago where we always have that big fire in the past to obscure the oldest of Chicagos and keep everybody with a lock on the future? I don't know. Something like that.

Visualize something. Know what I'm sayin'? Like skiing all the way down the West Coast or something. Which gets you someplace reliably sunny. And speaking of sunny, visualize sunny and save it like an acorn or insurance policy you're going to need to cash in on profusely.... I'm trying to do that here in Illinois, but it doesn't quite work that way since sunny snow days are bright and plentiful and to be counted upon here.

I'm doing the kind of rambling you're not allowed to do. Who can bother to wait for the bus? In this weather?
