Don Maclean? Dylan? Rage? They fucking banned them? WHY?? They didn't ban that terrible, terrible cover that Geri Halliwell did of the shite song "It's raining Men"! I think that's more relevent than most of the other songs they pulled from the air. Couple that with the fact that the song is so fucking horrible that it should never have got airplay in the first place. I'm really pissed about this. Lucky I don't live in your country.

now I can actually understand a few of these. I don't mean, I understand banning the songs, I can see why they would want to. "Blow Up The Outside World" by Soundgarden, for instance. But most of the things on that list, which I am assuming is only partial, are just insane. Cat Stevens? Cat Stevens was a fucking sensitive singer/songwrite type. I can't rilly see how banning Cat Stevens - or anyone else, for that matter - is going to improve anything. But then again, maybe the only reason there are Cat Stevens songs on that list is because he later bacame a Muslim and changed his name to Yusaf Islam, and, you know, we good patriotic Americans don't much care for Muslims these days.

according to a clear channel spokesperson there are 150 songs and there was no explicit directive to pull them from the airwaves only some vague suggestion regarding matters of "sensitivity" i already know i've heard U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday yesterday on one of their stations here in AZ (KMXP 96.9)

It isn't the Islamic part of the whole Cat Stevens story that riles people. It's the fact that he publicly endorsed the Iranian government's fatwa (holy order) calling for the death of the author Salman Rushdie over parts of the book "The Satanic Verses" deemed to be blasphemous to Islam. I still like his music and think the charitable stuff he has done in some of the balkan states is great, but i don't think he has ever retracted his support of the fatwa even if he doesn't speak of it now (it still stands) It's like all those christians who threatened to blow up movie theatres for showing The Last Temptation of Christ

That, and I guess Clear Channel doesn't want us to hear much "peace" music. Afterall, it's "America's New War" right? We can't have people actually thinking otherwise, right? Well by-golly if I'm going to have to go along with this thing, I want to bloody well be able to hear AC/DC "Highway to Hell" while it's happening.

Oh! Here it is... May I just throw out: CIA+George Bush and family= a bunch of dead people (to protect the profits) further impending financial doom + a "Reichstag fire" (read WTC/Pentagon) = death to Osama bin Oswald. Yeah; I'm just maikin' it all up. Has anybody seen my flag? I want to have it with me when I go to get the mark of the beast on my forehead.
