king kong NINJA: "we'd never fight an unjust war! but if we had to...our citizens would never have to experience first-hand the horror....children could fight the war...
king kong NINJA: and the protagonist is the sane person in crazyland...and is all..."they wouldn't know the value of even their own lives!"
king kong NINJA: and there'd of course be rampant materialism...and the notion that our society has advanced to the highest level on the maslow pyaramid...self actualization etc.
king kong NINJA: the father would grow more and more afraid of his child

and i've seen so many movies and games that i wouldn't be surprised if at zero a building blew up,

always at zero something happens.
and i give a bum a dollar and hope he buys a drink with it,
because i don't know if there's any joy in holding on or reforming,
at this point a drink is more caring than an honest assesment.
and cars slow drag through yellows
so that the car behind them gets stuck at the light,
or else slow drag at stopsigns
so the car behind them rushes to a stop called out and made still.
and a cigarette sparks as it bounces on the ground.
and it will be a on a billboard someday,
on a billboard or a t-shirt,
that bouncing cigarette,
the art of a fire without fuel,
failing on the concrete.
the eyes of a man holding
a sign, a slogan, a punchline,
the eyes which never seem to move,
sometimes light up,
and go out
like sparks across the concrete

you were making games

you were picked up,
whisked away by a friendly aunt,
who held you loosely
so that your legs dangled
in the loop of her sun dappled arms
you were placed on the shoulders of an older cousin,
you were told you were going somewhere important.
the sky for a moment froze in its blueness,
you could not distinguish
the trees tops from their bottoms,
you were spinning,
people were laughing,
birthday cakes and balloons,
and the sky
like a cloudy untouched soil
