february 1st is the first step to spring. there's definitely more light. although i could recognize that fact when i lived in the northwest, i also felt the month to be very dark, as well. having a boyfriend for v-day has always been a rare event, but it only sometimes gives me a sense of dread in_february. I associate the color turquoise with february, something to do with the future being kind of cold or something. I also think of mid-february as being a slew of holidays, including feb 15 when a bazillion people protested going to war in 2003. my parents were married on february 1st, brigid the bride's day. it was a modest wedding and they didn't know about brigid. my little niece's name is maeve, who is another irish luminary. |
