birdmad Moonlight Sonata

Fur Elise

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

but those are just 'cause i'm a nutty old Goth

i'm sure there are some classically trained musicians around here **points in the direction of unhinged** whocould offer some more hints in that direction, as for me, i tend toward improvisational and bebop-era jazz as well as the whole rock/pop spectrum of music so i'll make no pretense of being too well rounded

neesh well to turn this round a bit now, if you like piano music like the music suggested on this page, you might like mozart's fantasia in c minor and some of chopin's waltzes (namely the ones in minor keys). 060626
...
neesh also i'd highly recommend bach's inventions and goldberg variations, though they're very different to everything else recommended here.

and debussy's suite bergamasque, images, preludes (especially la cathedrale engloutie, la fille aux cheveux de lin, des pas sur la neige, la puerta del vino and feux d'artifice), pagodes and arabesque no 1.

and satie's gnossiennes, particularly 1, 2 and 5. look up his vexations, too!

and if you're a pianist and fancy a challenge, liszt's transcendental etudes could be fun.
