back in the day sexuality used to be a woman's only way of wielding any power. The keeping of chastity was a status symbol, it was a subtle form of power. But now that women have taken the right to power in other forms, they are able to enjoy the adventure that is sexuality in a way that men have always thought sporting. They are able at last to stop denying a part of themselves (which was just done in compensation for the parts of themselves restrained, since that was the only power granted to them, the only thing, along with mothering which was valued) and are able to express themselves fully. people will always be insane when it comes to sex. you *are* overreacting, and jumping down this person's throat because you think that they're saying that everything's alright forever. reactionaries like you are the type that make issues uncomfortable to talk about. personally, i think things like locker room talk are comforting; boys do it, girls do it, as long as they're talking they're learning, they're taking some of the puritannical and adolescent infulences out of this backwards-ass society.
and yes, there is still distance to go, we still have beer commericals and rapists. but considering that women's orgasms were only invented just under 40 years ago, i'd say we're doing damn good, especially when compared to all the other massive forms of ignorance and discrimination that remain rampant.
