My_wife recently brought up an interesting point: "Have you noticed that larger homes or estates often get named like "Tara" of Gone_With_The_Wind? Why can't we do that?" We live in an ordinary subdivision, packed in between other houses built by the same developer, but can't we give our home a name, too? Why not? I mean, really, why not? Okay, so we've decided to name our humble abode and we thought we'd ask for suggestions. To help, here's a little bit about our place: 1. We've enclosed the backyard with a privacy fence so we can create an oasis (we've already decided we don't want the name "Oasis") of flowering plants and ornamental trees. 2. We've created a bird sanctuary at the rear of the property, attracting some 40 odd species so far. 3. The front room has a two story vaulted ceiling that runs all the way to the back, over the kitchen. It was this open air feeling that led us to choose this particular floor plan. Well, that's about it. We'd appreciate any ideas for a name. The name does not necessarily have to apply to the above information.

Well, I_think we've already come up with a name (Rosewood), but if_you think of one better, we're game.

U, that is an interesting idea. It makes me wonder what_would_happen_if we decided to name our house a number, like you suggest, but a number that was already in use on_a neighbor's house. And, we installed a sign out front. I imagine all hell would break loose between us neighbors, plus the mailman, and anyone else making deliveries. Sounds like something worth trying if you're into making_a_scene.
