walrie that's true, i was thinking that last night and i was annoyed at myself and thought about saying something, however i did not. maybe what i meant to say was that the matrix was not diagonalizable. because the eigen values would be
1, -1/2 + i3^(.5)/2, -1/2 - i3^(.5)/2

anne-girl i'd disagree with that too, aksually - it is diagonalizable (not deficient, 3 eigenvalues), it's just that the diagonal matrix is a tad imaginary

but i could be wrong o.O
