In my hand there is a box. A white cardboard box, barely an inch high and about two inches by three inches in diameter. It's a small box devoid of distinguishing marks. You wouldn't think it special, but in this box is a piece of paper. You may laugh now. "What's so great about a piece of paper?" Well, I will tell you. This piece of paper reminds me of who I am, it reminds me that life can be good, this paper is my lifejacket, my rescue vessel. It says in child's writing, "I know you might get sad, but I love you." It is signed "Me" I wrote it. Many years ago when I was small and life was simple. And I take it out and look at it to remind myself that no matter how bad it gets there is a small child with high hopes for the future, who truly loves me.
