Death of a Rose
|
hovering my index finger over the red button, you came slyly into the room, hovering just beyond my sight. watching me, maybe waiting for my sixth sense to kick in or those eyes in the back of my head, to notice that you were standing there. i did notice your reflection on my screen, it was disconcerting to know that i wasn't going to turn around, pretend that i was still alone, just to watch you retreat. without having said one word to me. it would have been different if you had said anything instead of being silent and hoping i would figure you out, because you couldn't face the possibility of doing that for yourself. i know where i was and where i'll be.
